Mildred Herman (2 May 1913 - 7 Nov 2004)

Mildred Herman, 91, Dorchester, died Sunday, Nov. 7 at Colonial Center in Colby. Funeral Services were Wednesday, Nov. 10 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer officiating. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Doug, Jeffrey and Scott Herman; Gary Kronschnabl, D. David Sebold, and Al Meier.

Maurina Funeral Home of Dorchester assisted the family with arrangements.

The former Mildred Kronschnabl was born May 2, 1913, in Dorchester to the late Joseph and Sarah (Fritsch) Kronschnabl. She graduated from Dorchester High School.

Her marriage to Cliff Herman, who survives, took place January 20, 1941. She owned and operated Mildy’s Dress Store for 30 years.

She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, the PCCW and the Holy Rosary Society. She was a member of the Dorchester Lioness Club, the Lucky 13 Homemakers, and the Dorchester American Legion Auxiliary.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Joseph (Carole) of Holcombe; three grandsons and five great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Max, Romey, Milton, and Francis; and three sisters, Rose and Ceal, and Helen Mertens.
