 Irene Marie Lindau (16 Apr 1926 – 10 Nov 2001)

Irene Marie Lindau, 75, Town on Mayville, Clark County, died Saturday, Nov. 10 at Colonial Center in Colby.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester, with Rev. James Schaefer officiating.  Burial took place at Dorchester North Memorial Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Mike Roiger, Jerry Roiger, David Roiger, Greg Chojnacki, John Chojnacki and Robert Lamberty

The former Irene Chojnacki was born April 16, 1926, at Rib Lake to the late Anton and Lillian (Manikowski) Chojnacki. 

She married Arnold “Slim” Lindau, who survives, on September 9, 1947.  They farmed in the Town of Mayville.  She worked as a custodian at St. Louis Catholic School in Dorchester and as a housekeeper.

She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Parish Council of Catholic Women.  She enjoyed gardening and flowers.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Todd  (Donna), Westboro,  and Tom (Alice), Dorchester; two sisters, Helen Bucki, Chicago, Ill., and Gennevieve Roiger, Whittlesey; a brother, Charles (Betty) Chojnacki, Chelsea; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and Anton, and a sister, Lillian.

Memorials in her name may be given to St. Louis Catholic School.
