Neillsville Public Library (Receives Grant - 2012)
The Neillsville Public Library recently received a $5,000 grant from the Mead
Witter Foundation to purchase books for children and adults and to acquire four
new chairs for patrons using the public access computers. The library has
received three Mead Witter grants since 2001 to fund the purchase of many new
and requested books, encyclopedias and furniture. In 2012 the Mead Witter
Foundation funded a total of $407,000 in noncompetitive grants to 68 libraries
in central and northern Wisconsin, raising their total of contributions over
time to $1,643,500. Counting additional grants to public and academic libraries,
the Mead Witter Foundation’s financial support for Wisconsin’s libraries now
totals $2,490,000. (Photo by Todd Schmidt/Clark County Press)
