Alvin H. Gebert, 63, Dorchester, died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at the Veteran’s Home in King where he had resided since October 1998.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.  Father James Schaefer will preside.  Burial will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield. Visitation was Wednesday, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester, with an evening rosary service.

Mr. Gebert was born on August 14, 1937, in the town of Deer Creek, Stetsonville, the son of John V. and Minnie (Storbeck) Gebert.  He was a 1955 graduate of Medford High School.  A single man, Alvin served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963 and was stationed in Germany.  Alvin was employed with GTE Automatic Electric in Northlake, Ill. and Salt Lake City, Utah, as a computer programmer.

Survivors include four sisters, Dolores Seubert and Donna (Robert) Lindberg, both of Dorchester, Lois Kalson, Marshfield and Joan Vetter, Chippewa Falls; and two brothers, Jerome (Betty) Gebert, Holcombe and Ronald (Pat) Gebert, Dorchester.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Ralph, Norman and Charles Gebert.
