Matilda June Pawlukiewicz  (29 Jun 1929 - 5 Aug 2002)

Matilda “Tillie” June Pawlukiewicz, 73, of Withee died Monday, Aug. 5 at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen.  Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 8 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen with the Rev. Eric Linzmaier officiating.  Burial was at the Riverside Cemetery in Withee.  Pallbearers were Michael Bakken, Josh and Jessi Pawlukiewicz, and Steve, Jenny and Ryan Gay.The former Matilda Karaba was born June 29, 1929, to the late Vendel and Julia (Rebo) Karaba in the Town of Hoard, Clark County.

Her marriage to Walter Pawlukiewicz, who survives, took place on June 13, 1953, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin.  She was a homemaker and assisted her husband as bookkeeper in ownership of the Withee Oil Company since 1953.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, St. Rose Circle, the Holy Rosary Adult Choir and Polka Choir.  She enjoyed gardening and Polish cooking.

Along with her husband survivors include, two daughters, Jean (Steve) Gay of Altoona and Julie (Michael) Bakken of Menomonie; two sons, Terry (Joy) of Withee and Dan of Owen; two sisters, Betty (Duane) Peissig of Sister Bay and Marge (Richard) Friedenfels of Oak Creek; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene, John and Joseph.
