Irene H. Lewer (22 Oct 1923 - 19 Jan 1998)

Irene H. Lewer, 74, of S3190 Highway 13, Spencer, died at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 19. 1998, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel, pastor, will officiate. Music will be provided by Helen Brinkmann, organist and St. John’s Church Funeral Choir.

Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel and DuWayne Deering; Dominic, Damon, Christopher, Jason, Joshua, Shawn and Timothy Lewer; and Corey Purdy.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel and again until service time on Friday. A St. John’s Parish Prayer Service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. Lewer was born Oct. 22, 1923, in Dorchester, to Anselm P. and Alice E. (Bushman) Schmid. She was married to Robert J. Lewer, Sr. on Sept. 3, 1945, in Dorchester. He survives.
Irene was educated at St. Louis Catholic School in Dorchester. She spent her adult life raising her children and operating Circle “D” Ranch. Later in life her time was filled with grandchildren and operating Pine Ridge Stables and Kennel.
