Leon Schwarz (3 Feb 1933 – 25 Jul 2002)
Leon Schwarz, 69, Dorchester, died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at his home under
the care of family and Ministry Hospice of Marshfield.
He was born Feb. 3, 1933, at Medford, the son of the late Gilbert and Ann
(Kurth) Schwarz. He attended Medford area schools.
On July 24, 1954 her married Wilma Winkler at Medford. She preceded him in death
Jan. 6, 1979. He then married Patrician Knepper in Clark County. She survives.
He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army from 1950-53 where
he received two Bronze Stars and a Korean Service Medal. After the service he
worked road construction for Miller Brothers in Medford and for various
construction companies in Wisconsin and Illinois until his retirement in 1996.
In his retirement he worked for Bauer Trucking (sentence was cut off here)

Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Cynthia (Ray) Johnson, Withee;
two sons, Bruce (Denise) Schwarz, Medford and Brian Schwarz, Withee; one
step-daughter, Mary (Carl) Brandt, Skokie, Ill.; five step-sons, Phil Knepper
Jr., Marseilles, Ill., Steven Knepper, Skokie, Ill., Eugene (Sharon) Knepper,
Melrose Park, Ill., Robert (Lynn) Knepper, Barrington, Ill., and Joe Knepper,
Morton, Ill.; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Shirley
(Ralph) Millikin, Neosho; and two brothers, Lyle (Yvonne) Schwarz, Withee and
Glen Schwarz, Medford.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Schwarz in 2001.
Funeral services were held Saturday, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford. The Rev.
Joe Stefancin presided. Burial was in Holy (sentence was cut off here)
