David Ray Grewe (6 Jan 1950 - 23 May 2002)
Medford native David Ray Grewe, 52, Abbotsford, died at his residence in
Marathon County Town of Holton on Thursday, May 23. Funeral services were held
Wednesday, May 29, at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford with Rev. Al
Jakubowski officiating. Burial took place in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: Perry Braun, Don Gipp, Gerald Brecke, Bruce Wendt,
Phillip Mattes, Richard Reamer and Todd Halopka.
David Grewe was born January 6, 1950, at Medford to the late Melvin and Theresa
(Zaborowski) Grewe. A single man, Grewe farmed in the Town of Holton, and also
was a livestock dealer and auctioneer.
He was a member of the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association and served as
president of the organization for four years. He was well-known throughout the
Midwest for his Dairyland Fox & Coon Club, and was a member of the Chequamegon
Hound Club.
Survivors include a sister, Karen (Donald) Sandberg of Peshtigo; two brothers,
Alan (Wendy) of Unity and Larry (Ruth) of Troy, Mich.; and many nieces and
nephews.
