Donald P. Tischendorf (1 Sep 1929 – 23 Feb 2003)
Former Dorchester resident Donald P. Tischendorf, 73, Tomahawk, died Sunday,
Feb. 23 at Riverview Rehabilitation and Care Center in Tomahawk. Funeral
services were Wednesday, Feb. 26 at First Congregational United Church of Christ
in Tomahawk, with Rev. John Miskimen officiating.
Donald Tischendorf was born September 1, 1929, in Dorchester to the late Paul
and Hattie Tischendorf.
His marriage to Dolores Andreae, who survives, took place August 25, 1953, in
Medford. He is a National Guard veteran. He was a salesperson for Neimuth
Implement, retiring in 1991. The couple lived in Dorchester until retiring to
Tomahawk in 1995.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, the Card Club
in Dorchester and a former member of Dorchester Lions Club. He enjoyed fishing,
woodworking, building clocks, camping and traveling.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, Jim and Rodger (Laura)
both of Dorchester and Paul (Bonnie) of Mandiville, La.; Two daughters, Peggy
Young of Tucson, Ariz. and Chris (Jay) Gebert of Eau Claire; two sisters, Fern
Hargraves of Abbotsford and Joyce (Marvin) Steevens of Dorchester; a brother,
Marvin (Alice) of Abbotsford; and six grandchildren.
