Raymond Wesley Lapp (7 Dec 1907 - 1 Jul 2001)
Raymond “Ray” “Papa” Wesley Lapp, 93, Westboro, died Sunday, July 1 at Memorial
Nursing Home in Medford.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 3 at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home
in Medford, with Rev. Jerome Godson officiating. Interment took place at Mount
Olive Cemetery in Westboro. Pallbearers were Jeremy Lapp, Steve Lapp, Paul
Weatherford, Jim Becker, Ben Way and Donnie Zimmerman.
Raymond Lapp was born December 7, 1907 at the Town of Mayville, Clark County, to
the late Albert and Emma (Weber) Lapp. He attended Hilltop Grade School.
His marriage to Minnie Hedwig Scheel, who preceded him in death on November 26,
1985, took place on March 18, 1931. He owned and operated a dairy farm in the
Dorchester area for 27 years, retiring in 1957. He later worked as a carpenter
and was in charge of the Westboro town dump.
He enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Eugene (Pam), Colby, and Peter (Kathleen),
Dorchester; one sister, Cecelia “Lute” Lewis, Abbotsford; six grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother,
Charles, and two sisters, Sylvia Lapp and Goldie Schumacher.
