Clarence Riegert (2 Nov 1909 - 17 Nov 1998)
Clarence A. Riegert, 89, Colby, died on Nov. 17, 1998, at the Colonial Center in
Colby.
Funeral services were held Nov. 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Colby, with
Rev. John Malik officiating. Entombment was in St. Michael’s Holy Angel’s
Mausoleum in Wausau.
Clarence Riegert was born on Nov. 2, 1909, in Stetsonville, the son of Allen and
Louise (Vogt) Riegert. He attended Pleasant Valley School, rural Stetsonville.
On June 25, 1946, the former Helen Heindl and Clarence were united in marriage
at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester.
The young couple farmed in the Town of Deer Creek, rural Stetsonville. In 1972,
they moved to Marshfield and Clarence was employed with Figi’s in janitorial
office work. Upon retirement in 1981, Clarence and Helen moved to Colby.
Clarence was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Medford Knights of
Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Helen Riegert of Colby; one sister,
Alice Heindl of Medford; three brothers-in-law: Father Art Heindl of Westboro,
Urban Heindl of Abbotsford, James (Janice) Heindl of Abbotsford, nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Riegert, and two
sisters, Frances Brander and Hellen Hollman.
Pallbearers were nephews: Norbert Brander, Bernard Brander, Tom Heindl, Leon
Brander, Darrell Brander and Bill Heindl.
