Minnie Hutt (13 May 1912 - 3 Jul 1997)
Minnie M. Hutt, 85, Abbotsford, died on July 3, 1997, at St. Joseph’s Hospital
in Marshfield.
Funeral services were held July 6 at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford
with Rev. John Billings presiding. Burial was in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.
The former Minnie Chronquist was born on May 13, 1912, in Poskin, Wis., the
daughter of Frank and Eva (Carlson) Chronquist. She received her earlier
education in the Barron area schools and then graduated from the then Stout
Institute with a double major in Home Economics and Dietetics. Minnie and
Maurice Hutt were united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1940 at Barron.
She was employed as a dietician at the former St. Mary’s Hospital and Mount View
Sanitarium both in Wausau. Minnie later taught home economics at the Colby High
School for many years. She and her husband owned and operated Hutt Electric in
Abbotsford. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the choir, the
music club and also was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Maureen (Michael) Leahy of Cumberland and
Marilyn (William) Bobbe of Waupun; one brother, Dr. G.C. (Valborg) Chronquist of
Marshfield; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Hutt on Jan. 22, 1986; two
brothers and seven sisters.
Pallbearers were Craig Jansen, Galen Erdman, John Laabs, Mark Gjovig, Mike Leahy
and Seth Bobbe.
