Melvin Lindau, (27 Jan 1929 - 13 Dec 2005)
Melvin Lindau, 76, Waupaca, formerly of Neillsville, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2005,
at the Lake View Manor Nursing Home in Weyauwega.
He was born on January 27, 1929, in Dorchester, the son of Albert and Amanda
(Laack) Lindau. He graduated from Dorchester High School in 1946. Melvin was
united in marriage to Donna Mae Baumgart on December 6, 1952, and she preceded
him in death in 1989. After their marriage they lived in Unity, Abbotsford and
Thorp, before moving to Neillsville in 1960. He worked at Tri-state Breeders for
more than 20 years holding two different positions, technician and regional
supervisor.
He played trombone with the “Howie Sturtz Orchestra.”
He is survived by four children: Rich (Jean) Lindau, Sheboygan; Brian (Barbara)
Lindau, Granville, Ohio; Karyn (Richard) Ledhelz, Iola; and Ronda (David)
Rollins, Waupaca; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters,
Lucille Daellenbach and Arletta (Robert) Goldamer, both of Abbotsford.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; three brothers, Norman, Eugene, his
twin Elvin; and a sister, Vernetta.
Services were held at Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville on Dec. 17.
Interment followed in Neillsville City Cemetery.
