Alice Paulson (14 Aug 1901 - 30 Jan 1999)
Alice Paulson, 97, of Dorchester, died Saturday, January 30, at Colonial Center
Nursing Home in Colby. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Maurina
Funeral Home in Dorchester with Rev. Henry Hall, pastor of Salem Methodist
Church, officiating.
Inurnment was held in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
The former Alice Ekdahl was born Aug. 14, 1901, in Chicago, Ill. to Torger and
Mary (Peterson) Ekdahl. She attended Medford High School. Her marriage to Ansel
Paulson took place on July 5, 1921, in Medford. He died on March 11, 1927.
She was employed as a clerk and bookkeeper for the Rutzky Store, later known as
the Dorchester Co-op. She also served as the Dorchester village clerk from 1963
until 1970.
She was a member of Salem Methodist Church and of the Leach-Paulson American
Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Beverly Paulson of Dorchester and Beatrice
(Lawrence) Martin of Elburn, Ill.; two grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by of son, Donald, who was killed in action during
World War II; and seven brothers and sisters.
