Olivia Pinter (7 Apr 1909 - 24 Aug 2000)

Olivia Pinter, Abbotsford, died Aug. 24, 2000, at her residence in the Valley Crest Apartments where she had lived for the past three years.

Funeral services for Olivia will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Abbotsford with the Rev. Father Al Jakubowski celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Olivia will be buried next to her husband in the Abbotsford Public Cemetery.

Grandsons will serve as pall-bearers: Jeffrey, Gregory, Rodney, Bradley, and Michael Pinter and Kurt Hickman.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford. There will be a Parish Rosary at 7 p.m.

The former Olivia Decker was born April 7, 1909, in the Town of Little Black, Taylor County, the daughter of Peter and Kresenz (nee Heigl) Decker. Olivia and John Pinter were united in marriage on Sept. 1, 1931, at Sacred Heart Church in Stetsonville. They farmed in the Town of Holton until 1960, and then moved to a smaller farm. After John's death in 1979, she continued
to live in the country and moved to Abbotsford in 1989.

Olivia lived gardening, flowers, quilting, crocheting, and playing cards. She was member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and an honorary member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.

Olivia is survived by one daughter, MaryAnn (James) Schwalbach of Elderon; two sons, Lawrence (Barbara) Pinter, and Gerald (Ruby) Pinter, all of Abbotsford; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Habermeyer of Stetsonville, and Matilda Gabriel of Fort Atkinson; and two brothers, Frank Decker of Dorchester and Clarence (Wanda) Decker of Colby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pinter, on Jan. 30, 1979; three sisters, Theresa Goessl, Marie Forslund and Rose Geiger; two brothers, George Decker, and James Decker; and one great-granddaughter, Isabel Pinter.
