Lydia C. Revie, 101, Phillips, formerly of Dorchester, died Friday, Nov. 16,
2001, at Flambeau Hospital, Park Falls.
Mrs. Revie was born Dec. 28, 1899, in Neillsville, the daughter of Carl and
Augusta (Dombrow) Stacke. She attended the Cloverdale School. At the age of
seven, she moved with her parents to the family farm in Colby. At the age of 20
she left to work as a housekeeper in Oshkosh, Racine and Milwaukee.
Her marriage to Frank Revie took place in March, 1926. In 1931, they moved to a
dairy farm in the town of Mayville. They sold the farm in 1960 and moved to
Abbotsford. They then moved to Merrill in 1966 and returned to Dorchester in
1976.
On her 100th birthday in 1999, Mrs. Revie received well wishes from Governor
Thompson and President Clinton. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church
and the Dorchester Senior Citizens and Card Club.
Mrs. Revie is survived by two sons, Wesley Revie, Plymouth and Jack (Lila)
Revie, Kennan; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters,
Louis Olson, Evanston, Ill., Fay Hanson, Chicago, Ethel (Kenneth) Hansen,
Yakima, Wash., and Adeline Miller, Abbotsford.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Otto, Herman,
William and Walter Stacke; and two sisters, Martha Greiger and Edith Ingersoll.
Funeral services were held Monday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Dorchester. The
Rev. Jerome Freimuth presided. Burial was held in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Wally, Steve and Nathan Sprotte, John Yessa, Tom
Geisking and Donald Koerner.
