Duane Umlauft (13 Feb 1941 - 9 Sep 1999)
Duane Umlauft, 58, of Sherwood died Sept. 9, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Hospital,
Appleton.
Funeral services were held Sept. 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood,
with Fr. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
He was born Feb. 13, 1941, in Dorchester, son of Frank and Esther (Kloth)
Umlauft. On Aug. 12, 1961, he was united in marriage to Delores Melvin in
Abbotsford. Duane was employed with Foremost Farms, Appleton. He was a member of
the Sacred Heart parish, Sherwood, where he was an usher. He was also a scout
leader and had received the District Award of Merit. Duane was a member of the
Sherwood Lions Club and enjoyed his grandchildren and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife Delores; his children, Darin (Debra) Umlauft,
Milwaukee, Dean Umlauft and friend, Deborah Buechel, Appleton; Denise Umlauft,
Kaukauna; three grandchildren, his parents Frank and Ester Umlauft, Dorchester;
one brother, Rodney (Mary) Umlauft, Stetsonville; five sisters, Diane (John)
Hoepper, Rothschild, Louella (Lloyd) Luedtke, Schofield, Lois (Ron) Waldhart,
Medford, Renee McNamar, Medford and Julie (Steve) Lapp, Dorchester.
He was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Umlauft, and father-in-law, Archie
Melvin.
