Rogers, Bernard J. (11 FEB 1924 - 23 OCT 2014)

Bernard J. Rogers, 77, Marshfield, died on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Rembs Funeral Home with Rev. Samuel Martin officiating. Burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 9:30 am until service time, all at Rembs Funeral Home. A Knights of Columbus rosary service will be held on Sunday at 6:30 pm at the funeral home.

Bernard was born on August 10, 1937 in Rice Lake to Edgar and Josephine (King) Rogers. He married Diana M. Nurmi on May 13, 1961 in Rice Lake. He was self employed as a mechanic for many years in Ladysmith. After retirement he and his wife owned and operated Rangeline Bar in Rozellville.

Bernard enjoyed stock car racing, hunting, fishing and playing with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Badger Aerie #624, both in Marshfield.

He is survived by his wife, Diana and children, Barbara Rogers of Medford, Lawrence (Arlene) Rogers of Spencer, Bernard C. (Andrea Korpinen) Rogers of Ladysmith and Joseph (Amy) Rogers of Chili. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Matthew, James, Jenna, Meadow, Tanner, Ben and Bailey and 2 great grandchildren, Chelsea and Jackson. He is further survived by 2 brothers, James (Agnes) Rogers and Roland “Poncho” Rogers, all of Rice Lake, a special aunt, Olivia King of Rice Lake, his mother-in-law, Temple Beers of Marshfield, and brothers-in-law, Howard Beers of Marshfield and Tom Beers of Spencer.

He was predeceased by his parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Warren.
