Anderson, Donald A. (23 OCT 1952 – 21 DEC 1973)

Clark County authorities are awaiting an autopsy report before ruling on the cause of death of Donald A. Anderson, 21, of Abbotsford, and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

Clark County authorities believe that Anderson may have been responsible for his own death by taking an overdose of sedatives.

He was found dead late Friday afternoon on the floor of a hall in an upstairs apartment in Abbotsford, where he lived. His parents discovered the body and notified authorities.

Anderson had been seen Thursday evening while at work in a Colby tavern. It was reported he left his place of employment with friends at about 11 p.m.

Funeral services were held Monday, December 24, 1973 from the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, with the Rev. Emil Hodnik, pastor of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford, officiating. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The closing prayer was said by Rev. Douglas R. Groenewold, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Withee.

Donald A. Anderson was born at Stanley October 23, 1952, and was graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1972.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Lonnie (Ruth) Smith, Desota, and Kathleen Anderson, Spencer; three brothers, Melvin A. Anderson Jr., Tempe, Arizona; Delmar and Norman, Withee.
