Lezotte To Be Recognized By Legion (Lezotte - 2019)

Neillsville native Doug Lezotte will be honored by his local Legion post for his
service in the Armed Forces.
He will be recognized at a potluck this Monday, Feb. 4, at the Neillsville
Legion, 6 Boon Boulevard. The event will begin with a social hour at 4:30 p.m.
with the potluck starting at 5:30 p.m.
Lezotte was born in Neillsville. He attended Washington Grade School in the Town
of Grant and Neillsville High School.
Lezotte started working at Kohler Co. in Kohler in 1967. He joined the Army in
1968 and had basic training at Fort Campbell, KY. His advanced training was at
Fort Gordon, GA, so he could be a 31M20 radio relay carrier attendant and be in
communications.
He was transferred to Vietnam in July 1969. He was stationed in Co. A 124th
Signal 4th Infantry Division at Camp Enari near Pleiku.
He was assigned as 5.0 control and was in charge of radio control in the Central
Highlands around Pleiku.
Lezotte was discharged in July 1970. He returned to Wisconsin and moved to
Sheboygan Falls, and went back to his job at Kohler Company. He worked there
until 1980 when he took over the family farm until retirement.
He married Claudean in 1968. They have 3 children – Kirit, Jeremy and Rachel –
and 10 grandchildren.
Doug enjoys turning wood to make bowls, cutting boards and furniture. He also
enjoys flying radio control airplanes and building them. He rides a tandem bike
in the summer and enjoys having his family out to the farm for playing games and
four-wheeling.
