Thursday the United States added a new amendment to its constitution when
Nebraska passed favorably on the prohibition amendment 35 states had already
voted for it and Nebraska, Missouri, Wyoming and Wisconsin and one or two other
states have run the number up to the 40 mark.
This means that one year from January 16, the country will stop the manufacture
and sale of liquor for beverages purposes.
This however will probably happen July 1 of this year because of a law passed by
Congress which stops the manufacture and sale for six months after the
demobilization of the armies.
