Mohr, Christian William (25 February 1892 – 27 May 1960)

Christian W. Mohr, 68, died at Memorial Hospital on May 27,1960.

Christian William Mohr was born Feb. 25, 1892, to Andrew and Wilhelmina (Thelke) Mohr at Rhinelander and was educated there. He came with his parents to Pine Valley, Clark County at the age of 11 years and was further educated here. He lived the remainder of his lifetime on the home farm. Mr. Mohr was a member of the Silver Crest School board for several years. His marriage to a neighbor girl, Mary Anna Gehrt took place on Nov. 26, 1913, at Neillsville.

Mr. Mohr is survived by his wife, three children: Albert (Luella) Mohr and Ernest R. Mohr and Miss Agnes I. Mohr, St. Paul, Minn. Other survivors include: two sisters, Miss Marie Mohr and Mrs. Bertha Stiemke, both of Neillsville, one brother Fred (Blanche) Mohr, Neillsville; and 11 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter Barbara and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Johanna preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Georgas Funeral Home in Neillsville for Christian W. Mohr. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey, pastor of the United Church of Christ, officiated, and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Ellis Wall accompanied by Mrs. Jess Scott, sang, “Beyond the Sunset” and “Abide With Me.”

Pallbearers were: Byno Lloyd, Emil Zank, Richard Karl, Leslie Cook, Orin Eastman and A. B. Wightman.

Coming from out of town for the services were: Miss Agnes Mohr, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Harland Gehrt, Greenwood; Mrs. Rudolph Novak and Barbara, Merrillan; Mrs. Irvin Moore, Milwaukee; Rev. Victor Gross, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. August Toll, Eldorado; Otto Petrick, and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Belling, Rosendale; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Klein and Kleone, Eldorado; Mr. and Mrs. Glen S. Newton, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lange, Fond du lac.
