Nielsen, Ruth C. (7 JUL 1903 – 28 DEC 1973)
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, December 31, 1973 at the Kraut-Maurina
Funeral Home here for Mrs. Clarence (Ruth Clara) Nielsen, 70, of Owen (Clark
Co., Wis.), who died at 4:10 a.m. Friday, December 28, 1973 at St. Joseph's
Hospital in Marshfield.
Officiating was Roland Frey, first reader of the First Church of Christ
Scientist in Marshfield, and cremation will take place at Sunset Memorial Park
in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The former Ruth Clara Thompson was born July 7, 1903 in Chicago, and was married
there February 9, 1929, to Clarence Nielsen, who survives her.
In 1933 they came to the Owen area (Clark Co., Wis.) and lived here until 1940,
when they moved to Mayville. In 1970 they returned to Owen.
She was a member of the Owen Chapter 274 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a
past Worthy Matron, and a warden of Job's Daughters.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald (Louise)
Cockfield, Chippewa Falls, and a granddaughter.
