Engel, Minnie (5 OCT 1885 – 07 JAN 1974)
Funeral services have been set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Withee, for Mrs. Minnie Engel, 88, of route 2, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.),
who died at 7:25 p.m. Monday at the Neillsville Memorial Home.
The Rev. Douglas R. Groenewold, pastor, will officiate, with interment to follow
in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Pallbearers will be Roger, Ronald, and Gary Engel, Ed Cizek, Frank Olszewski and
Ted Gay.
The former Minnie Pensek was born in Poland October 5, 1885, and was married May
18, 1907 to John Engel, who preceded her in death May 15, 1953.
They had farmed in the town of Hixon until retiring in 1955. She continued to
reside on the home farm until entering the Nursing Home in September of 1971.
Surviving include three sons, Otto and Edward Engel, both of route 2, Withee,
and William Engel, route 1, Withee; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Anna) Lange, Dubuque,
Iowa; a brother, Adolph Pensek, Poland; 11 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
