Poppe, Mabel P. (16 DEC 1894 – 05 JAN 1974)
Mrs. Mabel Pauline Poppe, 79, of route 1, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 11
p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marsfhield.
The Rev. George A. Becker, pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen,
conducted services Wednesday, January 9, 1974 at 11 a.m. at Kraut-Maurina
Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Riverside Cemetery.
The former Mabel Scheuerman was born December 16, 1894 in Wyoming, Iowa, and was
married to Edward Poppe on October 3, 1916 at Neillsville. He preceded her in
death April 16, 1960.
She had farmed in the town of Longwood (Clark Co.) all of her married life, and
after their retirement still resided on the home farm.
Survivors include a son, Bernard Poppe, route 1, Withee; a daughter, Mrs.
Richard (Eleanor) Welsch, Minneapolis; a sister, Miss Elsie Scheuerman,
Minneapolis; and two brothers, John Scheuerman, Withee, and Charles Scheuerman,
Quincy, Oklahoma; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
