Jensen, Shirley Jean (22 DEC 1973)

The Oneonta Congregational Church in South Pasadena, California was the setting on Saturday, December 22, 1973 of the wedding of Miss Shirley Jean Jensen of Rosemead, California and Fred D. Burkhardt of El Monte, California.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Jensen, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Burkhardt, San Diego, exchanged their vows before the Dr. Edwin Roberts during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony. Dr. Huntington provided nuptial music.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in an empire gown of white satin and Venice lace, with a chapel length train. She carried a cascade of white roses.

Mrs. Barbara Delnick, Temple City, California was matron of honor, and Mrs. Candace Hovious, West Covina, California was bridesmaid. Their gowns of deep ruby velvet and white lace were complemented by a selection of roses.

Larry Wilson, El Monte, served as best man, and Richard Hovious, West Covina, was groomsman. David Jensen and Scott Shriver seated the guests for the ceremony, which was followed by a reception in San Gabriel.

The new Mrs. Burkhardt graduated in 1963 from Owen-Withee High School, and in 1967 from the University of Wisconsin. She teaches in the El Monte elementary schools.

Her husband graduated in 1962 from Lorain, Ohio Sigh School, and received his degree in 1966 from San Diego State University. He is employed as a commercial photographer and lithographer.

The couple will reside a 3331 N. Tyler, El Monte, California.
