Born to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Netzer, a son, Curt Lawrence, on Thursday,
February 28, 1974 at about 5:45 p.m. Weighing two pounds and four ounces, the
two and one half month premature baby, was born in the Colby ambulance between
the Colby Clinic and St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where they were
enroute following an examination at the Colby Clinic. Dr. Pfefferkorn was
following the ambulance, and when they approached Spencer, it was necessary for
him to bring little Curt into this world in the ambulance.
Upon arrival at the hospital he was put into an incubator, and then on Saturday
it was necessary that they perform surgery because of a bowel obstruction.
Although at the time he had a 10 percent chance to live, he is now holding his
own, but will be in the hospital for several weeks. Mrs. Netzer was able to
return home and is fine.
Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Johnson of Dorchester (Clark Co.,
Wis.), and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Netzer, Abbotsford.
