Mayer, NonaRae (Tippelt) (27 APR 1937 - 6 FEB 2019)

NonaRae (Tippelt) Mayer, 81, of Neenah, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at Willow Lane Assisted Living in Appleton. Per Nona’s wishes, there will be a private family service in the future.

Nona was born on April 27, 1937 in Medford to the proud parents of Clarence and Beatrice Tippelt. She graduated from Rib Lake High School in Rib Lake. She married Ervin A. Mayer on April 14, 1956. Nona’s careers included, back in the day, switchboard operator, shoe factory worker, J. C. Penney shoe department manager, and her favorite, For Goodness Sayklly’s Candy Store in Neenah. Nona enjoyed time spent at her and Erv’s cabin near Medford, where they were able to reconnect in retirement with beloved family and friends in the area.

Nona is survived by her three children, Tim (Kate) Mayer and Tom Mayer, all of Neenah and Joby (Joel) Sewall of Appleton. She was grandma to five and great-grandma to four.

The Mayer family would like to thank all of the special neighbors and friends for their support during the easy and not-so-easy times, we are grateful. We would also like to recognize the ThedaCare Hospice Program for the wonderful work they do and to the Willow Lane staff. Our gratitude and respect for the ultimate example of exemplary care giving, comfort and support, thank you. Also, to Chris Muench, Nona’s best friend, companion and helper of four years, we have no words to express the appreciation and love we have for you, your friendship and your heart in being our sister and walking this journey with us.

Persons wishing to honor Nona and her passing are asked to support a local cat adoption center in her memory.

Westgor Funeral Home of Neenah is assisting the family with arrangements.
