Ruesch, Lois Bertha (Krohn) (24 AUG 1946 - 9 FEB 2019)

Lois Bertha (Krohn) Ruesch, 72, passed away on Feb. 9, 2019 at Aspirus Care and Rehab. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church later this spring. Interment of her remains will be at Evergreen Cemetery II, Medford.

Lois was born on Aug. 24, 1946 in the township of Deer Creek to Orie and Kathryn (Larson) Krohn. She graduated from Medford Senior High in June of 1964. She married Mark Ruesch of Medford on Nov. 14, 1964. They moved to Wausau for two years while Mark attended radiology school at St. Mary’s Hospital. Upon graduation they moved back to Medford and she spent her lifetime in Medford.

Lois worked as a CNA at St. Mary’s Hospital and Colonial Nursing Home while living In Wausau. She worked as a homemaker and seamstress at home until their children went to school. Once the children were in school she worked in the factory of 4-S Glass and Hurd Millwork for a time. She then worked in the office of Weather Shield Manufacturing. She worked as a bookkeeper for Taylor County Nursing Service. She finally worked at Little Black Insurance Company in Stetsonville as the computer supervisor for nine years until ill health forced her retirement.

Lois was a strong person whom was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1966 and fought her whole life to be strong for her family, especially her grandchildren. It broke her heart when her first grandson died and life just got more difficult for her. She enjoyed putting difficult jigsaw puzzles together, baking and she was well known for sewing men’s sport coats as well as other seamstress work.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her mother and father-in-law, Edwin and Florence (Johnson) Ruesch; and her grandson, Jacob T. Jansen.

Lois is survived by three children, Kent (Jennifer) Ruesch of Milwaukee, Todd (Sara) Ruesch of Houlton and Tami (Shawn) Nejman of Burnsville, Minn.; and four grandchildren, Aaron Jansen, Alyssa Jansen and Jackson Nejman, all of Burnsville, Minn. and Traver Ruesch of Menomonie; three brothers and five sisters, Bryce (Patty) Krohn of New Brighton, Minn., Bonnie (Gerald) Balciar of Parker, Colo., Lynette (David) Lekie of Las Vegas, Nev., Hilda (Jeffery) Heglund of Menomonee Falls, Nyla (John) Gebert, Wausau, Lonna (Frank Szupica) Jonas of Racine, Robert (Carol) Krohn of Orlando, Fla. and William (Joan) Krohn of Mukwonago; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Gary (Deanne) Ruesch of Arbor Vitae, Stephen (Louisa) Ruesch of Cardiff by the Sea, Calif. and Kathleen (Andrew) Roberts of Burnsville, Minn.; one uncle, Nels (Shirley) Larson of Stetsonville; and many nieces and nephews.
