Dehne, Lydia (25 JAN 1884 – 6 MAY 1974)
Funeral services were held a week ago today, Thursday, May 9, 1974, at the First
United Church of Christ at Colby for Mrs. Lydia Dehne, 90, who died May 6, 1974
at San Luis Manor Nursing Home in Green Bay.
The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated at the 1:30 p.m. service, and interment was made
in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Dehne, the former Lydia Ortmeier, was born January 25, 1884 in Manitowoc
County, Wisconsin, where she received her education. She was married to Edward
F. Dehne on June 5, 1913 at Centerville in Manitowoc County. They moved to a
farm near Colby in 1916 and lived there for 40 years, moving to Abbotsford in
1956 to live with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Masiewicz. Mr.
Dehne died November 26, 1959. Mrs. Dehne had lived at the nursing home since
1969.
She was a member of the United Church of Christ and an Honorary Member of the
Women's Guild.
Survivors include four sons, Elmer of Holiday, Florida, Paul, Torrance,
California, Arnold, Withee, and Raymond, San Diego, California, and a daughter,
Mrs. Ed Masiewicz of Green Bay, three grandchildren and a brother, Henry
Ortmeier, Abbotsford.
