Horsfall, Lorraine G. (Degner) (28 OCT 1918 - 13 FEB 2019)

Lorraine G. Horsfall, 100, a former Medford resident, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at Rib Lake Health Services in Rib Lake, where she had resided for the past nine months.

Per her request, there will be no services. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Lake View Memorial Park in Oshkosh at a later date.

Lorraine was born on Oct. 28, 1918 in Oshkosh to the late Alvina (Otto) and William Degner. She attended Oshkosh elementary schools and was a 1936 graduate of Oshkosh High School. On March 17, 1941 in Missouri she married Carter F. Horsfall and he preceded her in death Feb. 18, 1977.

Lorraine moved to Medford in 1945, where she and her husband owned and operated Carter’s Jewelry on Main Street in Medford from 1945 until Carter’s death in 1977. After selling the store, she clerked for the new owners for a period of time. She enjoyed fishing, reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Medford.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter, Mary Ellen (Mark) Knoll of Casper, Wyo.; three grandsons, Aaron, Andrew and Jesse Knoll all of Casper, Wyo.; two great-grandchildren, Jacob Knoll of Washington and Gabriel Knoll of Casper, Wyo.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Ellen Horsfall in 1960; and eight brothers and sisters.
