Miller, William LeRoy (16 JAN 1926 – 4 JUL 1974)
Funeral services for William LeRoy Miller, 48, formerly of Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.), and of late years a resident of Minneapolis, were conducted at 1 p.m.
Monday, July 8, 1974, at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home. Mr. Miller was fatally
shot during an apparent robbery about 9:30 a.m. July 4, 1974 at a bookstore in
Minneapolis where he was employed.
Officiating at Monday's rites was the Rev. Alec Fraser, pastor of St.
Katherine's Episcopal Church, Owen, and burial was made at Riverside Cemetery.
LeRoy Miller was born June 16, 1926 at Minneapolis and attended Detroit Lake
High School there. He worked in a restaurant in Minneapolis for 10 years prior
to his employment at the bookstore.
He was a member of the Aquarium Society in Minneapolis.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Wilma Miller of San Jose, California, a
former Owen resident; an aunt, Mrs. Marion Haavisto, and an aunt and uncle, Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Haavisto, all of Owen.
He was preceded in death by his father, who passed away January 10, 1972.
