Dagmar Beck Christensen, 87, Withee, died January 9, 1997, at the Clark
County Health Care Center in Owen.
Funeral services will be Saturday at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in
Withee with the Rev. Paul Peterson officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will
be Frank and Louise Olszewski, George and Dorothy Waller, Art and
Waverly Jarvis and Art and Jane Peterson.
Visitation will be today at the Maurina Funeral Home in Owen.
The former Dagmar Beck Rasmusen was born on October 19, 1909 to Jacob
and Ida (Mobella) Rasmusen in Withee. She was a 1929 graduate of River
Falls Normal School and had taught at the former French Town School and
Withee Elementary School. On June 21, 1930, Dagmar and Harald
Christensen were united in marriage at the Nazareth Lutheran Church and
had celebrated 66 years of marriage. Harald was a rural mail carrier for
many years until his retirement in 1967. Dagmar was a charter member of
the Wisconsin Rural Mail Carrier Auxiliary and the Wisconsin National
Association of Retired Federal Employers. She was a 60-year member of
the Eastern Star. She and Harald were very active in the Nazareth
Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and with the
Ladies Aid. She enjoyed her beautiful Flowers, knitting and crocheting.
Her presence will be dearly missed by her husband, Harald
Christensen, who is a resident of the Clark County Health Care Center in
Owen.; a son, Donald (Jaqueline Hill) Christensen of Minneapolis; a
daughter, Elaine (Robert) Helberg of Winona, Minnesota; a brother, Viggo
Rasmusen of La Crosse; eight grandchildren and six-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Elglebretson
(Englebretson); two sisters, Herdis and Agnes; and four brothers,
Holger, Thorvald, Ove and Arnold.
The family requests memorials in her name be given to Nazareth
Lutheran Church in Withee.
