Shedden, Harold A. (3 August 1894 – 14 May 1975)
A former Neillsville resident, Harold A. Shedden, 80, of Clintonville, died
Wednesday, May 14, at Memorial Hospital in Appleton following a short illness.
Funeral services were scheduled to be held Saturday from the Eberhardt Funeral
Home, Clintonville, with the Rev. Norman D. Stephenson officiating. Burial was
to be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Masonic memorial services were
planned for Friday evening at the funeral home.
Harold Shedden, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Shedden, was born August 3,
1894, in Frankfort, Ka., and while still a young man moved with his family to
Dundee, Il. He came to Neillsville in 1917 and worked in the office of the
Oatman Condensery. His marriage to the former Ruby Raine took place October 20,
1920, in Neillsville.
The Sheddens owned and operated a variety store in Neillsville until 1938 when
they moved to Manawa and operated a store there until 1947. They then moved to
Clintonville where Mr. Shedden was employed at the FWD Corporation until his
retirement in 1960.
Mr. Shedden was a member of the Clintonville United Methodist Church and of
Clintonville Chapter No. 197, Free and Accepted Masons.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby; by one brother, James Shedden, Camden, Tn.,
and by one niece and one nephew.
