Matteson, Orvin B. (10 October 1922-26 July 1953)
Orvin Matteson, 30, Milwaukee, a local resident most of his life, died
yesterday afternoon in Milwaukee Hospital after being ill four days.
Funeral services will be held there Thursday morning in the Helke
Funeral Home and in Holy Name Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lloyd
Geissler officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. A
rosary service will be held Wednesday night in the funeral home.
Mr. Matteson, a World Ware II veteran was born October 20, 1922 in
Neillsville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Matteson. He was married April
19, 1941, in Mosinee to Gladys Crotteau, who survives. He served three
years as a petty officer in the navy during the war, much of the time
overseas. The family left here to live in Milwaukee a year ago.
Surviving, besides the widow, are three daughters, Terry Lee, Gail
Marie and Armine Kay, and four sons, Orvin Jr., Dale Roger, Larry and
Stevens, all at home; his parents, who live at 905 S. Seventh Ave., and
two sisters, Mrs. Waveland Fisher, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Gustav Benda, E.
McIntosh St.
