Nancy Bjornstad, granddaughter of Helga Bjornstad (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), is
now teaching in Australia. Nancy graduated May 8, 1974 from UW, Eau Claire with
a major in Elementary Education.
She left Milwaukee Sunday, May 19, as the school term began the first week in
June.
Nancy is teaching in the State of Victoria, about 20 miles out of Melbourne, and
has 1st grade in the Primary School.
Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bjornstad (the former Mary Ann Liberty), hear
from her about every week. It took some time to get adjusted, as it is now their
winter season. Summer vacation is the months of December and January, at which
time Nancy, along with several other American teachers, have made reservations
to tour Sydney for a week and New Zealand for three weeks.
She enjoys her teaching and will be there one year or longer if she wishes. Nacy
says she has seen many soccer games and sights in and around Melbourne,
including the koala bear and wild kangaroos.
