A fire early Monday morning destroyed a 44 x 82 foot barn owned by Alfred
Weideman, and located a miles east of Abbotsford on Highway 29. Also destroyed
was a machine shed, milk house and hay stored in the barn. A nearby granary was
damaged.
The Abbotsford Fire Department was notified after a passing motorist notice
smoke coming out of the west end of the roof about 5:30 a.m. Monday.
The loss is partially covered by insurance. The livestock and milers were
rescued from the barn.
