Brecke, Edward “Ed” O. Jr. (12 JUL 1942 - 26 FEB 2019)
Edward “Ed” O. Brecke, Jr., 76, of Oriole Drive, Stetsonville, passed away on
Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at his residence in the Town of Deer Creek. Per the
families request, there will be no services.
Ed was born on July 12, 1942, in the Town of Holton, Marathon County, to Edward
Orie and Sigrid (Heikkinen) Brecke, Sr. He attended Draper School, Town of
Holton, Marathon County and was a 1960 graduate of Medford High School. On April
20, 1962, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford, Ed was married to Ann Marie
Hirsch, and she survives.
After his education, he went to auctioneer school. He worked as a machinery
operator for Michels Pipe Line for a period of time. He owned & operated Brecke
Rodeo Grounds until recently. He bought and sold horses throughout his years. He
enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Ed is survived by his wife, Ann M. Brecke, of Stetsonville; children Edward O.
Brecke, III of Stetsonville, Holly (Mike) Feddick of Medford and Brenda (Scott)
Sommer of Weatherford, TX; 8 grandchildren, Eddie Brecke, IV, Cody (Tosha) &
Cole Neitzel, Brooke & Bailey Feddick, Morgan (Noah) Lassa, Heather & Garrett
Sommer; 5 great great grandchildren Keegan, Bria, Cryndalin, Payton & Sophia.
He is also survived by siblings Arla (Dale) Thompson of Monroe, WI, Bonnie
(Dale) Prochnow of Medford, Marlene (Doug) Erickson of Hinckley, MN, Gerald
(Patti) Brecke of Dorchester, Kathy Brecke of Merrill, Laurie (Pete) Stueber of
West Bend, WI.
Ed is predeceased by his parents.
