Zobrak, Susie (17 APR 1874 – 31 OCT 1974)
Mrs. Susie Zobrak, 95, died at 3 p.m. Friday, October 31, 1974 at the Sunny Vale
Infirmary, Wausau, where she was a resident for the past three months. For the
past six years prior to that, she lived at the Leahy Nursing Home, Abbotsford.
On Sunday evening at 8 p.m. a general rosary service was held at the Polnaszek
Funeral Home, Abbotsford, where the body lay in state. On Monday morning at 10
a.m. the Rev. Charles Schumacher officiated at a mass of requiem at St. Thomas
Catholic Church, Milan, and at the interment made in the Milan Cemetery.
Grandsons served as pallbearers: Dale, Dennis, Gerald, Norton and Ronald Zobrak,
and James Chofoszy.
The former Susie Kachmar was born in Austria April 17, 1874. Her marriage to
John Zobrak took place there in 1894, and the following year the couple came to
the United States. They operated a farm in Marathon County. Mr. Zobrak died in
1954.
Survivors include four sons, John Zobrak, Abbotsford; Andrew Zobrak, West Allis;
Michael Zobrak, Chetek, and George Zobrak, Brooklyn, Wisconsin; 14
grandchildren, and 38 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
