Knieis, Evelyn (12 NOV 1921 – 15 NOV 1969)
Mrs. Myron Kniess, 58, former Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, died at her home
in Cyrene, Missouri, Saturday, November 15, 1969, of cancer, after being ill for
more than a year. Funeral services were held their Tuesday morning.
The former Evelyn Frane was born in Colby November 12, 1911. She attended school
here and was married to Myron Kniess, who survives.
The couple had 13 children, 12 of whom are living. The family moved from Colby
to Missouri about 17 years ago.
Those attending the funeral from this area include her brothers and sister, Mr.
Math Allar, Mrs. Alvin Frane and Mrs. Donald Frane, Colby; Vincent Frane of
Owen; Howard Frane of Curtiss, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Frane and Mr. and Mrs.
Otto Kalepp, Abbotsford.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myron Kniess, 60, were held November 18, 1969 at 10
a.m. at St. Clement's Catholic Church at Cyrene, Missouri. Burial was made in
St. Clement's Cemetery there.
She died November 13 (the above articles said she died on the 12th) of cancer,
after an illness of two years.
She is survived by her husband, Myron Kniess, and 12 children: Harold Kniess of
St. Charles, Missouri, Kenneth, at home, Mr.s Alfred (Yvonne) Hofen, of
Louisiana, Missouri, Mrs. Boyd (Marie) Bounds of Farbar, Missouri, Mrs. Leon
(Bernadette) Cobb of Middletown, Missouri, Mrs. Donna Van Ree of Bowling Green,
Missouri, Mrs. James (Kathleen) Orf of Louisiana, Missouri, Miss Delores Kniess
of Bowling Green, Missouri, Mrs. Ben (Sandra) Reid of Evlia, Missouri, Mary Ann
Kniess of O'Fallon, Missouri, and Judy and Susan at home.
There are also 19 grandchildren surviving, and two sisters, Mrs. Mathias
(Lucille) Allar of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mrs. William (Catherine) Roohr,
Medford, Oregon, and four brothers, Arthur Frane of Abbotsford, Edward Frane of
Royal Oak, Michigan, Vincent Frane of Owen and Donald Frane of Colby.
