Blair, Mr./Mrs. Herman (Gold – 21 JAN 1970)
The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blair of rural Abbotsford
was celebrated at a family dinner November 29, 1969 at the Medo-Farms Restaurant
at Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.).
The couple was married January 21, 1920 at the Colby Methodist Parsonage, in a
ceremony performed by the Rev. Jesse George Vance. They operated a farm in the
town of Unity for 31 years.
They are now living near Abbotsford, and Mr. Blair is engaged in selling farm
machinery.
They have been members of the Methodist Church at Unity and Colby for 48 years.
Their health is listed as good, and outside activities include square dancing
and camping. Mrs. Blair also enjoys sewing and fancy work.
They have two children, Eugene, rural Abbotsford, and Lyle, living in West
Allis.
Mrs. Blaire, the former Eunice Holmes, was born October 31, 1898 at Unity. Mrs.
Blair was born octo 4, 1897.
Nineteen family members attended the dinner in their honor on November 29th. The
table was trimmed with gold streamers, with a 50th anniversary centerpiece and
flowers.
Mrs. Blaire wore a corsage of yellow roses, and Mr. Blaire was given a yellow
carnations.
