Leffel, William A. (20 APR 1887 – 23 DEC 1969)
Funeral services for William Albert Leffel, 82, of route 1, Stratford, were
conducted Friday, December 23, 1969, at 1:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church at
Marsh Rapids, Wisconsin. The Rev. Kent Schroeder, pastor, officiated, and burial
was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Leffel died early Tuesday morning, December 23, 1969, at Colonial Manor in
Wausau.
He was born in the town of Eau Pleine (Marathon Co., Wis.) on April 20, 1887. On
December 25, 1908 he married Clara Johnson at Marsh Rapids. She preceded him in
death on May 19, 1920.
The couple had moved to the town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) and farmed
there for about three years. They then moved to a farm in the town of Frankfort
(Marathon Co.) and lived there. Mr. Leffel resided at Colonial Manor in Wausau
for the past two years.
Survivors include two sons, Bernard and Delmar, both of Stratford; two
daughters, Mrs. Lavern (Viola) Treankler of Stratford, and Mrs. Harold (Bernice)
Miller, Colby; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Henry
Leffel, Colby.
Three daughters also preceded him in death.
