Wolk, Helen E. (18 SEP 1889 – 30 DEC 1969)
Funeral services for Helen Emma Wolk, 89, of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) were
conducted Friday afternoon, January 2, 1970 at the First United Church of Christ
in Colby. The Rev. Kenneth Dix officiated. Burial was made in the Colby Memorial
Cemetery.
Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Wolk died early Tuesday morning, December 30, 1969 at the Memorial Hospital
in Neillsville, after a lingering illness.
The former Helen Lemin was born in Sheboygan County on September 18, 1889. She
lived in Colby with her parents until her marriage to Fred Wolk at Colby. The
couple was married in St. John Evangelical Church on October 9, 1912. They
farmed in the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.) until 1943. After their
retirement they moved to Colby. Mr. Wolk died in 1952.
Mrs. Wolk was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Colby.
She is survived by one brother, Henry Lemin of King, Wisconsin, and one sister,
Martha (Mrs. Alvin Schmidt) of Colby.
Two children died in infancy and one daughter, Hilda, died at the age of 15. One
brother also preceded her in death.
