Corporal Leonard L. Haas, C Battery, 1st Battalion, 14th Artillery, American
Division Artillery, received the Bronze Star medal with "V" devices for a
display of heroism in Vietnam.
Corporal Haas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Art Haas Sr. of Unity (Clark Co., Wis.),
was commended for heroism in connection ith ground operations against hostile
forces in Vietnam on March 19, 1969. He was praised for staying at his howitzer
position in spite of intense enemy fire, and without concern for his personal
safety.
The services man is on a 30- day leave with his parents. He will return to Fort
Sill, Oklahoma, at the end of his leave.
