The report that Stanley people had a move on foot to have a bill introduced into
the legislation to form a new county with that city as the county seat by taking
eight townships, three and four west from Taylor County, six from Chippewa and
three from Clark Counties, reached the city Friday.
Banker Roe of Stanley was here on that day getting data and it was also reported
that petitions had been circulated in these eight townships in Taylor county by
those interested.
