Amacher, Steven “Beaver” (12 NOV 1962 - 19 FEB 2019)
Steven “Beaver” Amacher, 56, Withee, Wisconsin, died on Tuesday, February 19,
2019, at the home of his parents, Nancy and Dale Amacher in Withee. Beaver
desperately wanted more days on earth but it was not to be due to pancreatic
cancer.
Beaver was born November 12, 1962, in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He attended
Owen-Withee Schools and graduated in 1981. He told his mom that he would either
go to UW-Madison or “nowhere” so on to Madison where he graduated in December
1985 with a BA in History. He worked with his father in the financial planning
business and then managed Meadowview Golf Course from 1996-1999. For the next
fifteen years Beaver managed Park Falls Golf Course from mid-April through
mid-October. During the winter months he traveled to places where he could golf.
He also visited historical and natural sites. In late winter he did income tax
preparation. Most recently he returned to Owen-Withee and after managing
Meadowview for several years, fulfilled his lifelong dream of running his own
business, Beaver’s Bar and Grill (formerly The Hayloft) in Withee.
Beaver enjoyed golf and was an avid supporter of UW men’s basketball. He served
on the Clark County Board of Supervisors and was active in the Wisconsin Tavern
League.
Beaver is survived by his parents; sister Linda Amacher (Al Estermann), West
Bend, WI; two nephews Patrick and Christopher Budoff; special companion Dallas
Hawkins, Green Bay, WI; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Beaver is also survived
by a host of friends. We all loved him and will miss him so much!!
Preceded in death by maternal grandparents Emil and Elsie Potocnik and paternal
grandparents Fred and Grace Amacher.
Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 1pm at
Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, with Pastor Elizabeth Bier officiating.
Visitation from 4 to 7pm on Friday, March 1, at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home,
Owen.
