Barkow, Orville L. Jr. (30 SEP 1940 - 13 FEB 2019)

Orville L. Barkow, Jr., age 78, of rural Edgar, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his home.

As per Orville’s wishes, no services will be held. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.

Orville was born on September 30, 1940, the son of Orville and Alice (Bohl) Barkow, Sr. in Curtiss. He graduated from Abbotsford High School in 1959. Orville was united in marriage to Verna Timm on August 27, 1960. He was a welder and worked for Meyer Manufacturing.

Orville is survived by his wife of 58 years, Verna; a brother, Clarence Barkow of Mount Pleasant, TX; five sisters-in-law: Joann Welch of Greeley, IA, Carol (Rick) Bolsinger of Garber, IA, Connie Geiger of Dorchester, Karen (Steve) Kunze of Colby and Barb Elpert of Unity; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard; three brothers-in-law: Wayne Timm, Leslie Timm and Arlan Timm; and one sister-in-law, Nelda Schjoeneman.
