Sherfield, Mary A. (Thums) (5 FEB 1949 - 13 FEB 2019)
Mary A. Sherfield, 70, of Rib Lake, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019 at
her home, under hospice care. A celebration of life visitation will be held on
Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Rib Lake Ice Age Pavilion from 1-5 p.m.
Mary was born on Feb. 5, 1949 in Rib Lake to the late John and Theresa (Haider)
Thums. She grew up and attended schools in Rib Lake. Mary was later married to
Loren Sherfield on May 2, 1970 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in the town of
Greenwood. Mary enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with ‘her kids’.
She farmed and worked in a factory most of her life.
Mary is survived by her husband, Loren of Rib Lake; her children, Wayne (Lori)
Sherfield of Westboro and Kristin (Carl) Lueck, Karl (Kathy Roiger) Sherfield
and Todd Sherfield, all of Rib Lake; her sister, Theresa (Charlie) Bube of Rib
Lake; her grandchildren, Amanda Sherfield, of Westboro, Damon Lueck of River
Falls and Maci Sherfield, Kelli Lueck and Josh Lueck, all of Rib Lake; her,
great-granddaughter, Zoe Brendalen; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Thums and Mona
Thums of Isabella, Minn., Kathy Thums of Mount Vernon, Ind., Jean Thums of
Medford and Mary Thums of Rib Lake; and special extended family, Jess, Karah,
Madison, Ella and Bryce Grzanna.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by ten brothers and one
sister.
Generations Funeral Home and Crematory of Tomahawk is assisting the family.
