A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. John Nelson of Menomonie at Memorial Hospital, Friday, January 16, 1970. She is their first child. The eight pound, 11 ounce baby was named Emmy Luan.

Mrs. Nelson is the former Mae Carlson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Carlson, rural Abbotsford, and granddaughter of Mrs. John Schwartz of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.)

Mr. Nelson's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Nelson of Clear Lake.
