Boss, Victor A. (23 JAN 1919 – 23 JAN 1970)
Victor A. Boss, 51, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died Friday, January 23, 1970
at the Marshfield Convalescent Center. Funeral services were held Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, with the Rev.
F.H. Sprengler of Christ Lutheran Church officiating. Military rites were
conducted by Hansen-Terrio Post 139 American Legion.
Nephews served as pallbearers for the interment made in the town of Holton
Cemetery. They were Jack, Ronald, and John Boss, Willard and Robert Meyers, and
William Trump.
Victor Boss was born January 23, 1919 at Abbotsford, the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Boss. He was educated in the Abbotsford schools and served in World War
II in the Army, in France and Germany. His marriage to Harriet Ven Rooy took
place in Florida October 4, 1942. They lived in California the past 24 years.
Mr. Boss came back to Wisconsin last October and lived with his parents until he
was hospitalized for treatment of cancer, which caused his death.
Besides his parents, He is survived by Mrs. Boss and two daughters, Mrs. Leonard
(Betty) Leota and Mrs. Kenneth (Pamela) Briggs, all in California, and one
grandchild. Four brothers and three sisters also survive: Earl and Robert Boss
of Colby, Ernest Boss of Abbotsford, Vernon Boss and Mrs. Herbert (Lenore)
Meyers of Curtiss, and Mr.s Violet Olsen and Mrs. Alvin (Ruth) Justice of
California.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
